WHAT ARE SOLAR ENERGY ADVANTAGES?

The earthquake crisis in Japan not only took many lives and shocked many, but it definitely brought forth solar energy advantages to our minds.

Advantages of Solar Energy

After all we had to watch what severe meltdowns at the Fukushima I Nuclear Power Plant complex, and all the evacuations that had to be done, could possibly bring to other countries. This was quite a wake up call to most countries that are now looking to solar energy to replace the now perceived danger of nuclear power.

Biggest Solar Energy Advantages

For many the biggest advantages are personal, so that we might possibly realize the option to actually attain a certain degree of energy independence, but again stressing on an individual or personal basis. That translates to such things as perhaps the solar powered roof/attic fan you might install in your home, or water heaters that heat water from solar energy. Unfortunately this usually requires a certain investment from a personal basis too!

One side benefit of the personal cost of solar energy expenditures is the fact that governments have made available various rebates and incentives to offset the costs. Many homeowners have created solar energy panels to the extent that they can totally run their homes free from utility companies, and in fact are even able to sell off their excess electricity. Another clear benefit is that the costs of such panels is going down substantially, while their efficiency is actually increasing.

Of course the biggest advantage to solar energy is the fact that it is renewable, without any transmission costs since it is actually consumed where it is produced. The best part though above all is that it is clean and will not mess the earth any more with such environmental disasters as described above or even the Alaska and Gulf oil spills.

Further Solar Energy Advantages

Imagine being completely and utterly independent of electric companies. One can actually easily utilize batteries to store electricity for peak uses. It is very interesting that at this very moment, the solar systems that exist today are warranted to last from 20 to 30 years. Many people are completely startled to hear that there are absolutely no recurring costs and basically no maintenance is required. As opposed to using wind power, solar energy makes absolutely no noise whatsoever, making it ideal for home use especially where electric grids currently do not exist as some remote locations experience. As opposed to our current systems for electricity, there is no smog and absolutely no smells associated with solar energy.

Wrap Up Of Solar Energy Advantages

Granted that the highest and best reason why someone would want to switch to solar energy is that it would put a quick stop to our reliance on foreign oil. Also, solar energy will never contribute to smog, nor to global warming, or acid rain. The normal means of generating electricity currently used unfortunately greatly pollute the air by releasing mercury, sulphur dioxide, nitrogen oxide, and carbon dioxide into the atmosphere unlike solar energy which releases nothing into the air. Those are tremendous solar energy advantages, I’d say!
